Breaking the Silence Tour: Bringing Hope and Awareness with Disney’s Isaac Ryan Brown

Youth suicide rates are skyrocketing at an alarming rate, with suicide now being the second leading cause of death for ages 10-25. In just a decade, the age range most affected by suicide has broadened from 15-19 to an even younger group, largely due to the pressures of social media, bullying, and rising anxiety and depression among teens and preteens. Globally, the numbers are equally staggering—someone dies by suicide every 25 seconds.

In response to this heartbreaking reality, the Society of Royals, a Texas nonprofit dedicated to decreasing youth suicides, has launched a powerful initiative aimed at instilling hope and creating a sense of purpose in young people across the state. This October, during National Anti-Bullying Month, we are proud to present the Breaking the Silence Tourfeaturing Disney star Isaac Ryan Brown from Raven’s Home.

The tour will take place from October 10-14, 2023, and will make stops at several Texas schools and universities, including Hightower High School (Fort Bend ISD), South Early College (HISD), Klentzman Intermediate School(Alief ISD), Elmore Elementary (HISD), and Texas Southern University. The event is designed not only to entertain but to inspire, educate, and empower students to confront the mental health crisis that is affecting their generation.

Empowering Youth to Break the Silence

At the heart of the Breaking the Silence Tour is a powerful message: every second counts, and speaking up about mental health struggles is the first step toward healing. During the tour, we will spread awareness of how bullying, social pressures, and unspoken struggles with anxiety and depression are pushing too many young people to the breaking point. But we believe that by equipping students with the tools to recognize these challenges in themselves and others, we can spark a movement of hope, resilience, and support.

Isaac Ryan Brown, a beloved role model for many young viewers, will take center stage to share his personal insights on overcoming adversity and the importance of mental health. His presence on the tour is more than just entertainment; it’s a rallying call for students to speak up, support one another, and break the silence surrounding their mental health struggles.

Spotlighting Local Talent and Student Leaders

Each stop on the tour will also showcase talented students who are making a positive difference in their schools and communities. These young changemakers, presented by our Royal Ambassadors and staff at each campus, will share their stories of leadership, resilience, and activism in the face of challenges like bullying and social isolation. By highlighting these peer leaders, we aim to show students that they, too, have the power to lead, inspire, and create change in their own lives and the lives of others.

The students featured are proof that the fight against bullying and youth suicide isn’t just in the hands of adults—it’s a mission that every young person can take part in. Whether through music, art, sports, or advocacy, students across Texas are stepping up to break the silence and make their schools safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone.

A Celebration of Awareness, Entertainment, and Action

The Breaking the Silence Tour isn’t just a series of speeches and performances—it’s a celebration of the resilience, creativity, and strength that young people bring to the fight against bullying and suicide. At each stop, students and guests will enjoy great entertainment, food, and activities designed to foster a sense of community and belonging.

More importantly, however, they’ll leave with valuable information about mental health, including tips and resources for managing stress, getting involved in suicide prevention efforts, and supporting friends who may be struggling. Our guest speakers will provide actionable advice on recognizing the signs of bullying and mental health issues and steps that students and adults alike can take to prevent them.

Why Breaking the Silence Matters

The goal of the Breaking the Silence Tour is not just to raise awareness but to empower students to take action. Too often, young people feel alone in their struggles, unsure of how to ask for help or where to turn when they’re feeling overwhelmed. But by “breaking the silence,” they can begin to find the support they need and help create a culture of openness and understanding around mental health.

One key takeaway from the tour will be the importance of fostering a safe environment where students can speak up without fear of judgment. Whether it’s a friend, teacher, counselor, or family member, every young person needs someone they can turn to when life becomes overwhelming. Encouraging students to build these support networks is a critical step in preventing the isolation that so often leads to tragic outcomes.

Join Us on the Journey to Healing

As the Breaking the Silence Tour kicks off this October, we invite students, parents, educators, and community members to join us in this vital mission. Suicide rates among our youth are rising, but by speaking up and standing together, we can help turn the tide. Every second truly does count, and with the support of leaders like Isaac Ryan Brown and the incredible students across Texas, we’re confident that this tour will inspire a movement of hope, healing, and change.

If you or someone you know is struggling, don’t wait—reach out, break the silence, and take the first step toward healing. Together, we can help ensure that no young person has to face the challenges of life alone.
